Saya sedang mencari jugak. So far, hanya jumpa 1 LP Sharifah Aini. Actually my cousin brother last year baru dispossed his LPs collection he got since early 70s. Terkejut dia bila nampak my turntable. Too bad, semua LPs Sharifah Aini/Hail Amir/Uji Rashid sudah dibuang entah ke mana.

saya pernah dengar orang cite lp lagenda tu dekat K.L pernah di jual dengan harga rm600 (satu masa dulu....) mahal tu bro.......

saya beli itu EMI CD bila saya di SMJK tingkat 4 or 5.

simpan wang tak makan tak ankat bus jalan kaki pergi sekolah beberapa mingu baru dapat simpan RM36+ pergi beli itu CD. sekarang saya tengah itu CD saya punya mau menangis oh...

Some Malay artist's early cd album were pressed in Japan.
I've got the Sheila Majid Lagenda, one Ramlah Ram compilation of greatest hits, another Endang S. Taurina (80's Indonesian artisr) all Japan pressing, Sound quality is certainly a cut above later pressings. I'm keeping these Japan pressings indefinitely! Tak akan jual... Never mind lah..I won't bother about the Lagenda LP. CD copy pun cukup lah.
Actually a good friend presented me with this album as a gift in the early 90's.

Harga LP LP melayu semakin lama semakin naik harga nya...LP LP era 70s juga dah menjangkau sekitar Rm70 keatas bergantung kepada kondisi...Jika kita betul betul minat album tersebut tak salah jika melabur lebih sedikit tapi bukan untuk disimpan..ada sesetengah pihak lebih suka menyimpan dari mendengar disebabkan permintaan dari penyimpan lebih tinggi dari pendengar ini membuatkan harga harga LP melambung lebih tinggi dan ianya memberi impak yg tinggi untuk pendengar kerana terpaksa mengeluar RM yg lebih

The 1st pressing CD or Japan press very seldom in market. If in the market also the price will go sky hi

Reissue still avail in music shop but the sound quality will differ from 1st press

ianya album (boxes 6 in 1 tak silap saya dari 1st album hingga terkini). saya jumpa dekat rock corner ampcorp mall.
tapi album boxes ni pressingnya tak sama dgn album yang dulu...
1st pressing lagi bagus dari segi bunyi dan quality...
nak dapatkan 1st pressing tu memang susah....itulah serba sedikit information
yang saya tahu......cheers

Not too long ago, I came across a autobiography book on Sheila Majid and family at Joe Mac Amcorp Mall. Interesting hard cover book. I was actually more interested in a couple of P Ramlee's bio book at the same time.

btw IMHO & kalau tak silap, the best malay music started with Roslan Aziz Production - kita ada Sheila Majid, Zainal Abidin & RAP artist especially the song Ikhlas Tapi Jauh.

Their concert memang best. (Haha - i hanya pegi concert Zainal Abidin dkt Life Centre back in mid 90s - mmg best). They have the best musician during that time. Sayang sekali, all my cassettes dah tak boleh pakai.

I ada CD Sheila Majid - Gemilang. Another best sounding CD - Ella - Made in USA. Yang tercari-cari sekarang, kalau ada pun - Sweet Charity. Siapa ada collection LP Sweet Charity?

i recalled in my teenage year, he represented Malaysia to compete in a singing competition, another one of the contestant was my beloved idol Leslie Cheung. he sang 无心睡眠 and Sudiman himself sang an English song.. i was surprise he sang english, not malay song. the title of the song is something like "thousand or hundred ... smile something..."

i would pay top money for that LP. if is ever recorded and released in LP.

Malay artist vinyl expensive due to rare and not in production anymore...nothing to proud bout recording...

Since ur in KL why not frequently visit flea market at amcorp mall in weekends...maybe u got lucky

I wonder if the new or current CD issue would be bit for bit copy of the early Japan pressing, if it is, why not?.

Saya pernah ke Redpoint Record (di Singapura) untuk membeli LP Favourite Group, Muchsin & Titiek Sandhora, Mus Mulyadi dan beberapa album lain. Mereka ada LP Sharifah Aini, Rafeah Buang, Sheila Majid dan Anita Serawak. Tapi, waktu tu saya tak teruja untuk membeli kerana dah ada CD Sheila. Tapi sekarang, rasa menyesal pulak. Sabtu ini saya akan kesana untuk mencari. Mudah2an masih ada. Harga nya amat berpatutan sekali. saya ada LP Sweet Charity, Carefree, Othman Hamzah, Kembara, Alley Cats, Black Dog Bone, Discovery dan banyak lagi. tapi belum lagi hendak di jual...masih sayang...

The Sheila Majid Legenda LP memang very hard to find lah.. Last year i got offer for RM400 but i tot it was too high so i pass it.. Then almost 1 year waiting baru dapat. It only has 4 songs. Recently i bought the CD. It is Toshiba Made In Japan. Recently went to Red Point Records at S'pore n bought Fadzil Ahmad ghazal LP, Melaka ghazal LP and Wan & Mek LP (loghat kelantan LP). The guy earlier than me manage to get Anneke Gronloh LP .. Still looking for the Search - Fenomena LP..

I saw the Anneke album, but did not buy it. I bought Ahmad Jais (Which I sold to a friend in Gombak), Hussain Marican and a few EPs. I will be going later today. Will let you know if they have Search

I have two versions of the Legenda CDs.

The verdict :

The Toshiba version (top photo) are a lot balanced and produce better soundstage compared to the EMI version (bottom photo). You can hear Sheila singing at the front of the stage with the musicians behind. The EMI version is a bit harsh and bright on certain tracks - soundstage is relatively flat.

In any event both are great CDs....
